Closing the border will affect both Mexicans and Americans

One of the essential topics for President Donald Trump’s election in 2016 was to stop immigration, but the comments Donald Trump has stated against the immigrants have not stopped. Once again Donald Trump started to attack the immigrants and the Mexican government. Donald Trump has attacked the immigrants and the Mexican government because the Mexican government have failed to stop the caravans of migrants who left Honduras to come to the united states.

Donald Trump had threatened to close the border in the following week, but Donald Trump has moved his deadline to close the border in a year (Vasquez, 2019). Trump has stated the major reason why he has threatened to close the border is because we have run out of space and there is no space available for more immigrants. But according to the article, “America is not full. Its future rests with young immigrants” by William H. Frey it states that census projections that has been made indicate that during the first half of the 21st century our population's growth will decrease, which eventually contradicts Trump's statements.

But how will closing the border affect the United States?

There are millions of people who cross the border every single day and closing the border will affect many people. The most common reasons why people cross the border every day is because they work, live, or attend school in the United states. A major consequence the united states would face if the border would of close is to lose employees and visitors.

Closing the border will affect many border towns and cities in the United States that depend on people who cross the border. Closing the border will affect these border towns and cities in the united states because many of border towns and cities depend on Mexican consumers or even Mexican tourists. If the border would of close it would put all these communities in an economic risk (Mark, 2019).

As we live close to the border we could also be affected because as for example Calexico depends on the Mexican consumers who buy products or even Mexican tourists. So, imagine how many businesses would close or even how many people would lose their jobs.

But not only closing the border will affect the people who cross the border to the united states, it will also affect people or businesses who are in the united states. The border being closed will affect people who live in the united states because many of Americans also cross to Mexico every day to visit family or even to do business, but one of the major issue in closing the border will be how companies or businesses involved in trade be affected. In a way that it could affect companies is because Mexico supply a numerous amount of fruits and vegetables to the united states and if the border would of close it would affect because they would not be able to be delivered. If these certain fruits or vegetables are produced in the united states, the prices would elevate, and this will also hurt the economy.
